American Idol

So the latest American Idol final 3 includes Kris Allen from Conway, Arkansas. Tonight's news follows him all around Little Rock and has him singing and everything else. My problem is this. Is there no real news going on that we have to hear about some guy who is in some dumb singing contest?

Granted that this stuff doesn't happen that often to people in Arkansas but he hasn't won the whole contest yet. He's just in the final 3. We got floods all over this state, we got people getting shot, we got robberies, we got bad weather everywhere yet the news here is showing this kid (he was born in 1985 so he's a kid to me) singing and they do a whole telecast just for him?

That just blows my freaking mind.

Bad Day

Ok, so I didn't actually post for yesterday but I am doing it now and I'll do another one this evening to make up for today. You'll just have to forgive me this time is all yesterday wasn't exactly a stellar day in my world is all I can say.

First off I woke up to the power being off and found out it had been storming since about 2:30 in the morning and several trees were down all over town due to straight line winds. Knocked the power out all over town. No school for anyone, uprooted trees, knocked down power lines, all of this nearly on the year anniversary of the big tornado in 2008.

Then my sister and her boyfriend (who is still married to his wife) come over here and he starts arguing with Jonas about something on TV and I told him it was stupid to argue with a 6 year old about whether they spun a dollar or a hundred dollars on the price is right. He decides to turn into an ass and tell me that if I wasn't a retard he'd kick my ass so I tell him to get out of the house and ended up calling mom telling him that I don't want him to come back. What really ticked me off about the whole deal is that my sister was there for the whole thing and she didn't say a word to him about not calling me a retard then later when I told mom what happened she made it out to look like it was my fault and said that I called Curtis a retard and told him to get out. Why would I do something like that?

To finish off the day, mom made a pot of chili last night and I wound up throwing most of it up soon after. I guess because I was still upset because of him calling me a retard. I don't have a problem with anyone on this earth but I just don't want to be called a retard even in joking. I'll joke around with anyone and call each other names all you like but retard isn't one of them simply because I came that close to actually being mentally handicapped and I know what kind of life they have to live. I don't choose to be the way I am it's just a life that was forced on me.

Stephen King

My favorite author in the whole world and I figure it's time I make a post about him. I own every single book he's got in circulation with the exception of one. I own a whole bunch of the magazine articles and short stories that were only printed in magazines, many that were only printed once. I own one of a kind items from some of his movies and I know that they are one of a kind because the people who worked on the movie sent them to me from the set. I am far and away one of the biggest fans of the man. My current collection of his work is approaching the 1,000 piece mark. I have nearly as many Stephen King pieces in my collection as I do autographs in my collection including 5 books signed by the man himself and they sell for well into the $500-$1,000 range on ebay sometimes. I guess you could say that I am a pretty big fan all in all. Today I got the Bernie Wrightson edition of Frankenstein that has an introduction by Stephen King and it came with a signed bookplate of Wrightson as well.

I'm sure that if anyone wanted to know about Stephen King I could tell them about him and be more than happy to fill an hour or two worth of conversation. Stephen King, Star Wars and collecting autographs are about the only three things that I can talk to people normally and not get flustered about simply because I know so much about them.

People ask me about my disabilty and I'll just forget everything. I know that I had bacterial meningitis and I know that I spent 9 months in the hospital from it after spending 9 days in a coma. I know I still have seizures from it and they suck but other than that I can't tell you jack squat about the disease itself. What causes it, how I got it, if I'm ever going to get it again, if I'm cured, I honestly don't know. I could kick over dead tomorrow for all I know. I'm sure people would care and I'm sure people would cry and be sad but if anyone was asked what they knew about me what would anyone actually say? I don't know what the answer to that would be to be quite honest. You always see on the news after someone has done something horrible they say "He was such a nice guy, we never expected this to happen." Is that what they'll say about me when I die?

Autographs

I don't actually have one of these yet so I figure I may as well make one for today.

Today I sent out a total of 5 autograph requests for my collection, no telling how many of them I will ever get back but it never hurts to try. I sent out to the Tennessee Three because they are performing in Little Rock on Wednesday (sucks that I can't drive or I'd get them In Person). Sent to Fiddler on the Roof in Memphis, and sent to 3 people at Blithe Spirit on Broadway. I got a bunch I still need to send to just to use up my 42 cent stamps since postage goes up to 44 cents soon.

Today I got George Kennedy in the mail that a friend of mine got me In Person who lives in Europe. I needed him for my Naked Gun collection and for my Stephen King collection. I have nearly everyone from the Naked Gun movies including Anna Nicole Smith and O.J. I also found out today that I won the other two Potter kids from the Ebay auction that I had bid on. That's Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. I already have Daniel Radcliffe from when he was on Broadway last year.

Found out that Jonas will be graduating from Kindergarten on May 22nd so that is pretty darn cool.

I guess that's all I got for today.

Some Movie Reviews

Don't have a lot to talk about today so I figure I'll just review the last two movies I watched so that I can fulfill my daily post requirement.

I watched Run Fat Boy Run with Simon Pegg and it was a really cool movie about a guy who ran away from everything his whole life, including leaving his pregnant wife on their wedding day. So many years later (don't remember how many, sorry) she has a new love and he is a marathon runner so Dennis (Pegg's character) decides to win her back by running the marathon. He doesn't say he's going to actually win the marathon just finish it. The new love is played by Hank Azaria and during the first mile of the marathon he trips Dennis and they both fall down and Dennis breaks his legs but still finishes the marathon and his girlfriend realizes that Dennis is the better man and they live happily ever after I guess.

Made of Honor was a fairly good movie, didn't watch it as close as I watched the previous movie but the gist of it is Patrick Dempsey's character Tom goes to bed with the wrong girl and they fall in love but she later picks him to be her man of honor at her wedding instead of being the groom and she marries a fairly cool guy but he seemed like a douche to me. All in all I liked the movie and of course it turned out they live happily ever after the good guy gets the good girl. You know it's a chick flick.

Hopefully something interesting will happen tomorrow so that I don't just have to type crap in again, lol.

Rainy Day

It rained here all day long. It started at around 3 AM according to mom and hasn't let up all day long, as a matter of fact it is still raining here right now. I went to Wal-Mart today with mom because I had to buy some groceries and found out that they have really screwed up the Wal-Mart here. They are supposed to be reorganizing it but it looks like crap right now.

I do believe that I got another one of my Netflix movies in the mail today, some movie called 100 Women and I tried to watch the Rob Zombie version of Halloween but Jonas decided to be a butthead and wouldn't let me watch it in peace so I'll have to catch it some other time.

I know Natalie is checking this blog out from time to time so I'll just say that my facebook page is under my email address which is chillbill69@yahoo.com and my twitter name is twitter.com/chillbill if you are on there.

I know this entry was kind of short but I didn't do much of anything today. I got something wrong with me but I'd rather not say what it is until I can go to the doctor and maybe find out what it is for sure. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about but it has me kind of concerned.

Seizure Day

I honestly hope I don't have many posts with this title. I had a seizure last night at about 11 P.M. a little bit after I went to bed. I have had them off and on every once in a while but they don't come as often as they used to come. This was the first one that I had since early February. I have to go a full year without one before I will be cleared to work or drive again.

Other things that happened today were that I walked to Sonic and got me something to eat for dinner. Found a box cutter in the ditch that was perfectly good so I picked it up and put it in my pocket, never know when you will need something like that. Why is it that people look at you strange when you are walking down the street? They all look at you like you should be driving like they are. Has nobody ever heard of exercise?

I'm going to have one of these posts in blogs in the future about flowers or birds or something and put some pictures on it because there is a really nice looking lot downtown that I walk past that has nice flowers in it that I could get good pictures from.

Jonas, my nephew, went to the zoo today with his kindergarten class. He said he got to touch a real horse and a real tortise which he explained to me is a big turtle. He seemed to have enjoyed himself which is all that's important.

I started my scattegories contest on my autograph site today and most people enjoy it and all of my other contests as well. There are a few pricks on that site but for the most part they are all fairly nice people. I'm sure that the pricks all say the same thing about me and that's fine.
